
Florida State League Names Pitcher and Player of the Week

The Florida State League today named the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period August 26 - September 3, 2013.
The Player of the Week was Lakeland Flying Tigers Infielder Devon Travis. He played in 10 games and had 16 hits in 39 plate appearances for a .410 batting average. His hits included five (5) homeruns, three (3) doubles, and one (1) triple. He stole two bases and drove in 12 runs and scored 11 times. His slugging average was .923 and his OBP was .419. This is his second year of professional baseball and he is from West Palm Beach, FL.
The Pitcher of the Week was Lakeland Flying Tigers Right-hander Wilsen Palacios. He started two (2) games, had one complete game shutout, won one (1) game, and had a 0.00 ERA. In fifteen (15) innings pitched he allowed six (6) hits, no runs, and he struck out nine (9) batters. Wilson is in his fourth year of professional baseball and comes from Miranda, VZ.
