First Bobble Head Vote Of 2010 Will Include Players From 2009

(LANCASTER, CA) -The Lancaster JetHawks are welcoming in the New Year with a Hangar Heroes Bobble Head Poll that includes stars from the JetHawks 2009 season. Koby Clemens, Jon Gaston, JB Shuck, Fernando Abad and Chris Hicks will campaign against one another for bobble head immortality starting January 6 when polls open at 12pm.
JetHawks catcher Koby Clemens won the California League batting title with a.343 batting average and provided more late inning heroics than any other 2009 JetHawks player. Outfielder Jon Gaston broke the JetHawks single season home run mark with 35 and was tied for the most long balls in all of Minor League baseball; Brian Pellegrini was the player Gaston tied splitting time between Lancaster and Low A Lexington, Pellegrini is expected to return to the JetHawks next season. Outfielder JB Shuck led the California League in hits with 175 as the JetHawks lead-off man. Pitcher Fernando Abad had the lowest WHIP (Walks and Hits per innings pitched) of any JetHawks hurler and was assigned to the Houston Astros 40-man roster following the end of the season. Pitcher Chris Hicks rounds out the candidates with the most wins on the JetHawks pitching staff with 9, splitting time as both a starter and a reliever in 2009.
Polls will open tomorrow at noon and will remain open until Friday January 15th at 5pm. JetHawks fans have already voted in Dan Uggla and Brian Golden as Hangar Heroes to be immortalized next year as part of the celebration of "15 years of Hangar Heroes". New polls will open every week at jethawks.com and fans can choose what players, coaches and JetHawks personalities they want to become a part of JetHawks history.
The 2010 season marks the 15th anniversary of professional baseball in the Antelope Valley, and since its inaugural game in 1996, The Hangar has produced more than 90 Major Leaguers and inducted 25 members into The JetHawks Hall of Fame.
