Final ABA All Star Participants Named

, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced the final 10 participants for ABA All-Star Weekend, which the Vermont Frost Heaves will host at the Barre (Vt.) Municipal Auditorium on March 21 and 22.
Added to the East All-Stars, who will be coached by Vermont's Will Voigt, are Joseph Britto, a 6'5" forward with the Jersey Express; P.J. Young, a 6'6" forward with the Manchester Millrats; Charles Fortier, a 6'4" guard with the Quebec Kebekwa and Cordell Jeanty, a 6'7" forward with the Montreal Royal.
The West All-Stars under Texas Tycoons coach Jean-Paul Afif will feature Kenny Wright, a 6'2" guard with the Long Beach Breakers; Charncey Ephraim, a 6'5" forward with the West Texas Whirlwinds; Robin (Sik Wit It) Kennedy, a 5'10" guard with the Orange County Gladiators and former And1 Mix Tape Tour Standout; Sean Dixon, a 6'2" guard with the Atlanta Vision and B.J. Puckett, a 6'9" forward with the Atlanta Vision.
Previously named to the East team were Anthony Anderson, a 5'11" guard with the Manchester Millrats; Samuel Audet-Sow, a 6'6" forward with the Quebec Kebekwa; Tommy Mitchell, a 6'3" guard with the Montreal Royal; and Eric Crookshank, a 6'8" forward with the Halifax Rainmen. Two Vermont Frost Heaves, 6'8" forward Issa Konare and 6'5" forward Antonio Burks will also participate, with Burks replacing 6'3" guard Terrance Green, who is out for the season with a knee injury.
Previously named to the West team were 6'2" guard Mario Kinsey and 6'8" forward Randall Williams, both of the Texas Tycoons; and 6'10" forward Jerome habel and 6'4" guard Cardell Butler, both of the San Diego Wildcasts. 6'9" guard Sun Yue and 6'6" swingman Jamel Staten of the Beijing Aoshen Olympian made the West team, but neither will be able to participate because of other commitments.
Alternates for the ABA All-Stars include Atlanta's Kelvin "Old School" Davis, the league's oldest player at 48 years old; Bahama's Clayton "Smiley Culture" Miller; Boston's Jamaal Brooks; Halifax Brian Silverhorn;Long Beach's Jaushay Rockett; Manchester's Cedric McGinnis; Maywood's John Smith; Orange County's Tony Farmer; West Texas' Ray Williams and Westchester's Jomo Belfor and Ricky Johns.
Tickets for All-Star Weekend are available for in-person purchase at Allen Lumber in Barre; First in Fitness in Montpelier; and the Flynn Regional Box Office at 153 Main Street in Burlington. The weekend will feature Hot Shots and Dunks presented by M&M Beverage Centers and Simply Subs on Friday night beginning at 7pm with ABA All-Star Slam Dunk and Three-Point Contests sandwiched around a Three-Point Contest for Vermont high school senior boys and girls presented by Community National Bank.
The ABA All-Star Classic presented by the Vermont State Employees Credit Union will tip off at 105pm and feature the All-Star Halftime Showcase presented by M&M Beverage Centers.
Team practices at the Barre Aud will be free and open to the public on Friday afternoon between 1 and 4pm, while DMS Machining and Fabrication will present the All-Star Community Breakfast on Saturday morning at the American Legion Post 10 on North Main Street in Barre, with seatings at 9 and 10am. A limited number of tickets for the breakfast, which will benefit Spaulding High School's Project Graduation, will be on sale at the Aud on Friday night.
