FC Tucson News Release
FC Tucson adds another new face to its defense ahead of the 2022 season with addition of defender Tyler Moss.
The club announced Tuesday the signing of 23-year-old Moss, previously played collegiate soccer with Sacramento State.
"This is my first professional contract and I'm excited to come to such a great club," said Moss. "My only plans during the offseason have been to train and get ready for the season."
Moss joins the club after playing 1,510 total minutes, the highest of any outfield player, and leading the team with six assists in his final year at Sacramento.
Moss was named Big West All-Academic in his Sophomore and Junior years, and named to the Big West All-Freshman team in his first year.
The Carmichael, California, native previously played with the Oklahoma City Under-23s and San Francisco Glens SC, both in USL League Two, during his summers off from college. He also played for FC Davis in the National Premier Soccer League.
He played four games with San Francisco raking up a total of 110 minutes, and made 14 appearances with Oklahoma City for a total of 1,177 minutes and making eight shots.
"Tyler is a top athlete, an incredible competitor, and I think he can be a top right back in this league," said FC Tucson head coach Jon Pearlman. "He comes from a good staff at Sacramento State and I think he's going to be a real asset to our team."
He is the 10th player on FC Tucson's 2022 roster. He joins returning starters from the 2021 playoff team, center backs Kaelon Fox and Luca Mastrantonio, and championship-winning left-back Jake Crull, who signed from Union Omaha.
