FC Tucson's hunt for a playoff spot continues this Tuesday when the club welcomes Greenville Triumph SC to Kino North Stadium for the first time this season. The club comes off a scoreless draw against Richmond last Saturday. The quick turnaround (72 hours) is the shortest break between matches for FC Tucson this season.
Each team as a win in their season series. FC Tucson won the first match between the two sides 3-1 at Legacy Early College on July 20th. Midfielder Devyn Jambga recorded his second brace of the season, while Kyle Venter scored his fourth goal of the season in the 52nd minute of play.
A few weeks later, the Triumph defeated FC Tucson 4-0 on September 13th.
Greenville enters the match following a 3-1 victory over Toronto FC II. The Triumph currently sits in third place in the table with a 11-7-7 record and 40 points.
FC Tucson will be without its captain, Kyle Venter, who must serve a league-mandated one-game suspension for his red card following two yellow card offenses against the Richmond Kickers last week.
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Goalkeeper Carlos Merancio recorded the club's fifth clean sheet of 2019 last week, marking his first of the season.

Last Saturday, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu and Erik Virgen controlled the midfield against the Richmond Kickers. The pair combined for 74 completed passes, 4 of 7 duels won, and a passing accuracy of 91.9%.
Still Within Reach
Despite playing to a scoreless draw last week, FC Tucson remains in seventh place in the table and just seven points shy of the fourth and final playoff spot. FC Tucson holds a game in hand over every club excluding their upcoming opponent, Greenville Triumph SC. The club currently in fourth place, Forward Madison FC, travels to Kino North Stadium this Friday.
