
FC Tucson Begins Six-Match Road Stint in Lansing

FC Tucson kicks off its six-match road trip this Saturday against Lansing Ignite FC. Tucson enters the match following a dominating 3-1 victory over Toronto FC II at Kino North Stadium.
In that win, Tucson scored three goalsinthe first 25 minutes of play. Midfielder Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu found the back of the net in the 5th minute, registering the club's fastest goal in its professional era.
On loan from Phoenix Rising FC, midfielder Devin Vega scored Tucson's second goal of the night in the 19th minute. He now sits tied with Devyn Jambga as the club's leader in goals scored (3).
And forward Jordan Jones tallied his second goal of the season in the 25th minute to give Tucson a commanding 3-0 lead as they headed into the locker room.
Tucson conceded its first goal of the night in the 73rd minute, resulting in a final score of 3-1.
On Tuesday, Lansing pulled off a thrilling 3-2 win over Forward Madison FC. The host side registered two goals during stoppage time to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Lansing currently sits third place in the league table with a record of 6-5-6 and 24 points.
Three's Company
For the first time this season, Tucson had three players (Wheeler-Omiunu, Somersall, and Jones) named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 15. Both Jones and Wheeler-Omiunu registered their second goal of the season against Toronto, while Somersall recorded one assist and completed 20 of 27 passes.
The Kid is Back
Following his goal last week, midfielder Devin Vega is now tied for first on the club with three goals scored. On loan from Phoenix Rising FC, Vega has appeared in six matches for Tucson.
International Status
Midfielder Raheem Somersall recently received a call-up to the St. Kitts and Nevis U-23 National Team. In 11 appearances, he has registered one assist, 31 tackles, and boasts a passing accuracy of 80.6%.
Long Road Stretch
This match marks the first of six consecutive road matches. Tucson does not return to Kino North Stadium until August 24th against Orlando City B.
Smooth as Juice
Midfielder Jamael Cox continues to build on his impressive season. He leads FC Tucson in assists (2), created chances (14), minutes played (1,003) and is second in goals scored (2).
