Austin Aztex News Release
AUSTIN, Texas (www.austinaztex.com) -- The Austin Aztex have just picked up another offensive weapon to add to the already potent attack, as FC Dallas has agreed to loan Peri Marosevic to the team through July 5.
Marosevic comes to the Aztex with an impressive resume. FC Dallas drafted the 21-year old out of the University of Michigan with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.
While at Michigan, Marosevic scored 24 goals and registered seven assists in three seasons while being named Second Team All-Big Ten twice.
The young striker has also been a part of the United States U-18 and U-20 National Teams and was invited to join the United States for the U-20 World Cup last fall.
"We are extremely excited to have a player with the credentials Marosevic brings with him," Coach Adrian Heath said. "With us having so many matches coming up, Peri will provide us with depth and some quality minutes. The loan is a great move for all parties involved."
Austin is currently atop the USSF D-2 Pro League table with 24 points. Its next game is on Saturday against Miami FC, who the Aztex defeated 3-1 at Miami.
