Back on the road this weekend the Force (5-10-2-1; 13pts) head to Des Moines to face off against the Buccaneers (6-8-2-1; 15) for the first time this season.
The Force split last weekend with the Western Conference Leading Tri-City Storm after a bit OT win on Saturday night. They'll look to keep that momentum going with a 7:05pm CT puck drop on Friday at Buccaneer Arena.
Force forward Bret Link was a key player in all three of Fargo's games last week netting 3 goals (two of which were shorthanded) and 3 assists for 6 total points in just 3 games. His hustle on the penalty kill led to the tying goal on Saturday which eventually led to the Force OTW.
Trevor Griebel remains a staple on the Force blue line, he currently leads the team with 12 assists and ranks third in overall points. Fargo netminder Louden Hogg made 30 saves on Saturday to earn his second career USHL victory, snapping Tri-City's 10-game win streak. His partner between the pipes Anton Castro played put up a solid game on Friday night with 34 saves in the 2-3 loss to Tri-City.
The last time the Force played at Buccaneer Arena was back on April 10, 2021, when they shutout the Buccaneers 2-0. Des Moines was 1-5-1-1 in the month of November, dropping two to Dubuque last weekend, one 5-7 in regulation and a SOL 2-1.
The Buccaneers are led by Scout Truman (7G-14A) with 21 points in 17 games he's currently averaging 1.24PPG. He's followed by Davis Burnside (6G-10A) and Killian Kiecker-Olson (8G-6A).
After this weekend the Force take on the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box for two games and then return home to Scheels Arena for two games vs. the Waterloo BlackHawks. Starting with Cully's Kids Night on Thursday, December 16 followed by Corgi Races on Friday, December 17.
