FARGO, ND -- The Southern Minnesota Express have been a third-period team all season but never more than in Round Two of the NAHL Central Division championship series. For the second night in a row, Southern Minnesota parlayed an outstanding third period into a come-from-behind victory, this time a 4-3 defeat of the Fargo-Moorhead Jets. Andy Inderieden (Maple Grove, MN) and Mike Montgomery (Lino Lakes, MN) scored just nine seconds apart at 11:32 and 11:41, enabling the Express to escape North Dakota with a 2-0 stranglehold on the best-of-five series.

Fargo led the game 1-0 and 2-1 before Ben Beaudoin's (Inver Grove Heights, MN) powerplay goal in the second period evened things up. The Express hit metal no less than four times in the second frame - two goal posts and two crossbars - while dominating play. In the third, their luck turned - first on Inderieden's shot from the slot and then on Montgomery's bank shot from the end wall off the skate of Jets' goalie Elliot Okland.

The Express now hold a perfect 6-0 record over the Jets in post-season play dating back to 2006. Fargo-Moorhead captured the Central Division regular season championship and led the division all season long. Along the way, the Jets defeated the Express seven times versus only two defeats. But all of that matters not as the Jets face playoff elimination at the hands of the Express for the second straight year. Game three is scheduled for Friday, April 27 at Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, MN.
