The El Paso Chihuahuas shut out the Memphis Redbirds 3-0 Friday to extend their season. The Redbirds currently lead the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship Series two games to one.
Walker Lockett pitched five shutout inning Friday, with relievers Tim Melville, Adam Cimber, Trey Wingenter and Kevin Quackenbush throwing a scoreless inning each to close the game. It was El Paso's first shutout of the postseason after six during the regular season.
Franchy Cordero went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBIs. It was his first homer of the postseason. Tony Cruz went 2-for-4 Friday and is now 8-for-20 this postseason. Friday was the second time in Chihuahuas' history the team won Game 3 after trailing a playoff series games two games to none, having also done it in 2015 versus Fresno.
