Once again, Lafayette was able to cut into the Paints' lead. The Aviators loaded the bases on three walks to start the inning. Zach Schwartzenberger singled home one run and Mile Simington hit a scrifice fly, scoring another, cutting the Paints' lead to 16-12.

Jay Ward entered the game in the sixth and threw three scoreless innings in relief, allowing one unearned run on one hit and striking out four to stabilize things defensively for the Paints.

Lafayette got that unearned run in the bottom of the seventh. Pinch hitter Keolu Ramos doubled, stole third and scored on a throwing error, making it 16-13 in favor of Chillicothe.

The Paints tacked on one final run in the top of the ninth. Gavin Homer hit a one-out single. A wild pitch send Homer from first to third. A second wild pitch allowed Homer to score, capping the scoring at 17-13.
