
ECHL Mourns Loss Of Former Player Marsters

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express
their condolences to the family and friends of former ECHL goaltender Nathan
Marsters, who died on Monday in Smithville, Ontario when a deer crashed
through the windshield of his pickup truck.
Selected in the fifth round (165th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in
the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Marsters played four seasons
in the ECHL from 2004-08 and was 31-42-10 with a shutout, a goals-against
average of 3.66 and a save percentage of .895 in 91 games for Augusta,
Louisiana and Wheeling. He set a Louisiana team record with 56 saves in a
5-3 win at Pensacola on Mar. 29, 2005 and also played in the American
Hockey League for Portland.
The 29 year old is survived by his wife, Olivia. The couple did not have
any children.
Family visitation will be Friday in Ontario followed by a private
funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the
Grimsby (Ontario)
Minor Hockey Association or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals.
