East All-Stars Defeat West 161-140

Barre, VT. Anthony Anderson of the Manchester Millrats sank five of seven three-point shots and sprang for 33 points to lead the East All-Stars to a 161-140 victory over the West All-Stars in the ABA All-Star Classic, presented by VSECU, at the Barre Municipal Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
Eric Crookshank of the Halifax Rainmen added 28 points, 14 rebounds and six steals for the East, which raced out to a 72-54 halftime lead and held the West to 36.8% shooting for the game. Issa Konare contribued 17 points and eight rebounds, while teammate Antonio Burks logged five points as the Frost Heaves' representative.
For East coach Will Voigt of Vermont, it was his first All-Star victory, after presiding over the losing East team at last season's ABA All-Star Weekend in Halifax.
Cardell Butler of the San Diego Wildcats, the form And1 Mix Tapes Tour player known as Ballaholic, scored 34 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the West.
After the game, Justin Hoy, founder of Montpelier-Halogen Records, presented Anderson with the Halogen Records ABA All-Star MVP Award.
The night before, in the opening event of ABA All-Star Weekend, Robin (Sik Wit It) Kennedy of the Orange County Gladiators, another And1 Tour veteran, nosed out Sean Dixon of the Atlanta Vision to win the Simply Subs ABA Three-Point crown.
Chris Cayole of the Vermont Frost Heaves edged Butler for the M&M Beverage Centers' Slam-Dunk title.
In a special Vermont High School Senior Hot Shots event presented by Community National Bank, Stephanie Hazlett of Arlington and Rob Dorion of Rutland won their respective divisions.
Next up for the Frost Heaves and the ABA is the Final Championships, which the Quebec Kebekwa will host at the Pavillon de la Jeunesse in Quebec City from March 27 thru March 30.
