Dusters name Morgado General Manager

Amarillo, TX 2/19/09 - The Amarillo Dusters, a member of the arenafootball2 league, officially announced Joe Morgado as the team's general manager Thursday.

Morgado, who had been the Dusters' vice-president since Randy Sanders took over majority ownership of the team in October, will begin duties in his new position effective immediately.

"Naming Joe as our general manager allows me to concentrate my efforts on gathering local support professional sports successful in the Texas Panhandle," Sanders said. "Joe is an experienced front office man, and has won an ArenaCup championship in the past (Florida, 2004). He is the ideal person to manage the area's only professional football team."

The Dusters will begin their regular season on March 27, hosting the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz at the Amarillo Civic Center. Amarillo reached the arenafootball2 conference finals last season under the front-office leadership of Morgado, and is eyeing more success this season with new head coach Ben Bennett at the helm.

Recently, the team announced a rare pre-season game between the Dusters and Yard Dawgz, to be played at 7:00 PM on March 16. General admission tickets are only $5, to celebrate the Dusters' fifth anniversary season in the af2. To acquire tickets, fans can call (806) 350-PASS (7277).
