Palm Beach Imperials News Release

Melbourne, FL. They didn't do the little things. There were a couple of botched in-bound plays, a few lapses on defense and of course the free throw shooting. Fifty-percent from the line. The coaches warned these young players that if they didn't do the little things right, it would cost them a close game down the road. It didn't take long for that to happen, as the ABA's Palm Beach Imperials took advantage of the Duck's miscues and escaped last week with a thrilling 112-109 victory over Brevard - the Ducks only loss of the season thus far.

The game was so close, it almost went into overtime, but an apparent game-tying 3-pointer was waived off at the buzzer and the Imperials escaped with a close victory. Now the Ducks have their eyes set toward revenge when those same Palm Beach Imperials visit the Clemente Center Thursday night in an exhibition game for the ABA expansion team starting its league play in November.

"There is no way we are going to make those same mistakes again," stated Coach Brian Rowsom. "I would hope we are smart enough as a team to take away a game like that and learn something from it..and then go out and perform properly the next time we play. Well, now we've got our chance."

Lamont Carr, Imperials coach added, "The Ducks have a nice squad - but we have not yet completed our roster for the regular season though we're proud of the players we have thus far. These guys are good, they're competitive, they work hard - but when we open the ABA season - I'm sure we'll even be much better than we are right now."

Half price tickets to the game are $5. in advance. Call 321 751 BLUE. The game will be at the Clemente Center, 150 W. University Blvd in Melbourne at 7pm. For more information, visit _www.palmbeachimperials.com_ (http://www.palmbeachimperials.com) or _www.abalive.com_ (http://www.abalive.com) .
