Dietrich Named NLL General Manager of the Year

Buffalo Bandits general manager Steve Dietrich has been named the NLL's General Manager of the Year, the league announced today.

He previously won the award in 2016 and 2019. He and Saskatchewan Rush general manager Derek Keenan are the league's only three-time winners.

Dietrich, who has been at the helm since 2016, saw his club post a league-best 14 wins this past season and reach the NLL Finals.

He joined the Bandits front office in 2012 after spending two seasons as an assistant coach for the Toronto Rock. He also spent five seasons as general manager for the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse prior to coming to Buffalo.

"Chugger" played 18 seasons in the NLL, including six with the Bandits. In 2006, he was named the NLL's Most Valuable Player after having one of the best statistical individual seasons for a goaltender in league history. That year for the Bandits, he posted an .808 save percentage and a 9.97 goals-against average.

Dietrich was inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame as a player in 2012. He also serves as a Bandits assistant coach.
