
Despite Slow Start, Dawgs Defeat Beijing

Rosemont, IL - The Dawgs had a slow start in today's game going in to the 6th with only two hits, both from Katiyana Mauga.
A quality at bat from Brittany Cervantes resulted in a lead-off walk in the top of the 6th bringing up Taylor Edwards. Pinch runner for Cervantes, Kiki Stokes, advances herself by stealing second. Single to right scores Stokes from second to bring the score to 1-0.
Olivia Watkins starts off the top of the 7th with a shot down first base line for a lead-off triple!
A ground out from Allexis Bennett brings up Nerissa Myers who hits another line past the Eagles first baseman for an RBI triple making it 2-0 with Kiki Stokes up to bat. Dawgs coaches pinch run for Myers with Amanda Kamekona.
Kiki Stokes draws a walk to bring up Christian Stokes who also draws a walk to load the bases for Mauga. A line out from Mauga brings up pinch hitter Brianna Cherry.
Cherry with a hit back up the middle off Eagles pitcher Nancy Bowling to score two, making it 4-0.
