FORMER Amsterdam Admirals team mates JAKE DELHOMME and KURT WARNER played key roles for the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants respectively as they led their teams to victories in NFL Week 2 action.
Delhomme (Amsterdam 1998/Frankfurt 1999) completed 16 of 29 passes for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Panthers levelled their record at 1-1 with an impressive 28-17 defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
The former World Bowl winner fired touchdown strikes of 3, 9 and 1 yards to Kris Mangum, Keary Colbert and Mike Seidman. Wide receiver EUGENE BAKER (Amsterdam/Berlin 2003) returned 2 kickoffs for 21 yards and 3 punts for 18 yards for Carolina.
Wide receiver DANTE HALL (Scotland 2001) rushed twice for 15 yards for the Chiefs and added 78 yards on kick and punt returns. Scottish-born kicker LAWRENCE TYNES (Scotland 2002) scored 5 points for Kansas City on a 33-yard field goal and 2 conversions.
Warner (Amsterdam 1998) hit on 22 of 33 attempts for 232 yards and a touchdown as the Giants also improved to 1-1 with a 20-14 defeat of the Washington Redskins. Warner connected on a 38-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Tim Carter, while defensive tackle BRANDON NOBLE (Barcelona 1998/1999) recorded 2 tackles for the Redskins.
In Arizona, ADAM VINATIERI (Amsterdam 1996) scored 11 points as the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots recorded a 23-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The former Admiral connected on kicks from 29, 28 and 24 yards, and added 2 PATs as New England moved to within one victory of an NFL record-tying 18 consecutive victories.
A pair of NFL Europe League running backs saw extensive playing time as the New Orleans Saints recorded a 30-27 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
AARON STECKER (Scotland 2000) led the victorious Saints with 41 rushing yards on 15 attempts and also added 6 receptions for 19 yards. San Francisco's JAMAL ROBERTSON (Rhein 2002) rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries, caught a 10-yard pass and returned 7 kickoffs for 183 yards.
Wide receiver MICHAEL LEWIS (Rhein 2001) returned 4 kickoffs for 80 yards, 2 punt returns for 34 yards and added a special teams tackle. Defensive back STEVE GLEASON (Rhein 2001) made 1 tackle for the Saints.

Three defenders with NFLEL experience helped the Raiders to their first victory of the young season. Defensive end BOBBY HAMILTON (Amsterdam 1995-96) made 4 stops, while linebacker TIM JOHNSON (Rhein 2002) and safety DAVID TERRELL (Rhein 1999) each tallied 2 tackles. Punter BRIAN MOORMAN (Berlin 2000-01) completed a 24-yard pass and averaged 39.8 yards on 5 kicks for the Bills.
Dallas Cowboys 19 Cleveland Browns 12
Defensive tackle LA'ROI GLOVER (Barcelona 1997) helped the Cowboys get off the mark by registering 3 tackles against Cleveland.
