DB Harper, Force Scrapes by Edge in Thrilling Win

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force (5-2) hold off the Bloomington Edge (2-4) to record a 32-37 win on Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Center.
Right off the bat, the Force came into the contest with an undeniable momentum. On the initial kick-off of the game, DB Dominique Terrell made a monstrous tackle that brought the hyped energy to the Force bench.
Later in the first, LB Jason Catchings blocked an Edge field goal attempt that was picked up by DB Evan Ray for the first set of points for the Force. Catchings made his second highlight play late in the first with a tipped pass that was directed to DB Dorrian Roberts. Roberts then deflected the pass back to Catchings for an interception that was returned for eight yards.
Ending the first quarter and carrying through to the end of the second, the Force recorded on four unanswered drives including two field goals by K Connor Frazell. Force QB Stephen Panasuk connected to WR Brett Soft for a nine yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter. In the second, Panasuk found WR Clarence Anderson for a 23-yard touchdown pass.
Returning from the halftime break, the Force and Edge were neck-and-neck on both sides of the ball with neither team scoring in the fourth quarter. Bloomington recorded two touchdowns in the third while the Force scored only once, 5-yard reception from Panasuk to Soft, where the score would rest until the final whistle.
From late into the third throughout the fourth, the Force and Edge were in a field goal battle with each squad forcing the opposing team's offense into going for three. Neither side were able to count a good field goal.
In the final minute of the fourth quarter, Panasuk threw his lone interception in the contest giving the Edge the final possession with the clock counting down. The Edge managed to bring the ball within red zone territory and scored a touchdown that was ultimately called back by an illegal substitution penalty. On the next play, Force DB Kendrick Harper picked off Edge QB Caleb Holbrook to seal the win.
