Day is in the Rush

EDMONTON, AB-The Edmonton Rush announced today that current General Manager/Head Coach Paul Day has signed a multi-year agreement with the organization.
"It was very important to us to have Paul return to the team, but it was imperative that we have him here for the long term", states President Duane Vienneau. "Despite the team's floor record this season at 1-15, Coach Day continually demonstrated the commitment and patience required to build a franchise team."
The 2006 NLL Season was Day's 12th season behind the bench. He spent the first 11 seasons with the Rochester Knighthawks organization as an Assistant Coach for three years and then as the Bench Boss and Assistant General Manager for the next eight. However, at the end of the 2005 NLL season, Paul decided it was time for a change. He chose instead to pursue an opportunity that would allow him to hold the prominent dual duty. The Rush looked no further than Paul whose credentials were impeccable.

Returning to join Day behind the bench will be assistant coaches Jim Milligan and A.J. Jomha. Milligan currently coaches the Peterborough Lakers in the Canadian Senior A League. A longtime fixture in the Edmonton lacrosse scene, Jomha currently coaches the Edmonton Miners Junior A team in the Rocky Mountain League. Jomha also serves a dual role with the Rush, as Director of Lacrosse Operations.
Day who will celebrate a birthday soon, looks forward to a much bigger celebration when he brings the first-ever NLL Championship Team to the City of Champions.
