Syracuse Crunch News Release

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Kevin Lynch scored with one minute remaining in the game to complete a third period comeback and help the Syracuse Crunch steal a 3-2 victory over the Rochester Americans tonight at Blue Cross Arena.

Michael Bournival and Lynch led the team with a goal and an assist each, while Anthony Cirelli added Crunch's other tally. The victory moves Syracuse to 3-5-1-0 on the season and 1-1-1-0 in the 10-game season series against Rochester.

Crunch netminder Michael Leighton earned the win with 25 saves. Adam Wilcox stopped 12-of-14 between the pipes for the Amerks before being relieved by Linus Ullmark in the third period. Ullmark allowed one goal on five shots. Syracuse went 1-for-5 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The Amerks were first on the board with a power-play goal halfway through the opening period. Taylor Fedun helped cycle the puck up to the blue line where Barry Goers sent a feed for Sahir Gill to one-time from the right circle.

With 3:07 remaining in the first, the Crunch evened the score. Bournival got his stick on the puck near the right face off dot and snuck a shot through traffic. Lynch earned a point with the assist.

Rochester regained the lead late in the middle frame. After the Amerks forced a turnover, C.J. Smith picked up the loose puck along the left boards and fired for Kyle Criscuolo to tip from the slot. Leighton made the first save, but Criscuolo was able to poke in the rebound.

Syracuse knotted the game for a second time with a power-play goal at the 9:12 mark of the third period. Cirelli skated the puck down the right wing side and dropped it off to Adam Erne at the goal line. Erne sent a return pass for Cirelli to chip in from in front of the cage. Ben Thomas picked up the secondary helper.

With just 1:03 remaining in the game, the Crunch finally took the lead. Peca controlled the puck out of a scrum behind the net and threw a centering feed for Lynch to one-time from between the circles. Bournival made it a two-point night with an assist on the game-winner.

The Crunch are back in action when they travel to face the Belleville Senators on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
