Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON - The Binghamton Senators welcome fans from around the Southern Tier to the B-Sens' fourth annual open house on Sunday, July 10th from noon to 4 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The free event is open to the public and includes player appearances, dressing room and skybox suite tours, activities, a Zoomobile visit, food, music and lots more hockey-related fun. Season ticket holders will be admitted to the open house beginning at 10 a.m.

Among the highlights will be an appearance by the Senators' 2004-05 captain Chris Kelly, defenseman and assistant captain Andy Hedlund and assistant coach Mike Busniuk. The trio will meet and greet guests and sign autographs between 1 and 3 p.m.

"We look forward each summer to giving our fans and the community a chance to spend a fun summer afternoon at the Arena celebrating hockey," said Tom Mitchell, the Sens' executive vice president of operations. "This event has gotten better each summer and I expect that to continue with the fourth open house."

Another highlight of the afternoon is the unique opportunity to see where Chris Kelly, Andy Hedlund and the rest of the Binghamton Senators prepare for games or relax after a hard practice. Members of the B-Sens' staff will lead tours through the B-Sens' modern locker room facility that was renovated prior to the Sens' first season in Binghamton. Guided tours will also be led through the Senators' luxury skybox suites and state-of-the-art video control room, which produces and directs the content of the Arena's two large video screens and concourse television monitors.

As in previous summers there will be plenty of activities, food and music for fans of all ages at the open house. The slap-shot den will be set up for fans to test their shooting accuracy or they can challenge Le Goalie, the B-Sens' remote control goaltender. Plenty of cool prizes will be awarded to those who participate in the activities. Also on hand from noon to 3 p.m. will be the Ross Park Zoomobile with between five and six zoo animals visiting the open house. And fans should bring their appetite as Food Consultants will be serving up the same pulled pork, hot dogs, soda and beer that fans enjoy at B-Sens games, but at discounted prices.

The open house is also a great opportunity for fans to purchase their season tickets and choose their own seats for the upcoming season. All seats that are sold as full season tickets for 2005-06 will be marked with yellow paper. Fans purchasing full season ticket packages will be able to pick their seats from those that are unmarked. Binghamton Senators' staff will also be selling half-season ticket packages and coupon books at the open house.

A wide assortment of Toyota's new vehicles will also be on display at the open house courtesy of Jack Sherman Toyota. Information and literature will be available for pickup. Jack Sherman Toyota is a longtime sponsor of the "Chuck a Puck" program supporting both the Broome Sports Foundation and the BCC Foundation.

Finally, anyone looking for a deal on B-Sens merchandise will have a large quantity of items to choose from including discounted authentic and replica jerseys as well as plenty of East Division championship gear. These items and many more will be on sale in front of the Arena at the merchandise tables.

While individual game tickets will not be available until the fall, season tickets for the 2005-06 campaign are now on sale at the Sens' executive office - 3rd floor of the Arena. To purchase 2005-06 season tickets, the Sens' office is open Monday through Friday during the summer months from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling 722-SENS (7367). The deadline for 2004-05 season ticket holders to renew their seats is Friday, July 1st.
