Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - It takes a special type of team to win 20 straight home games. Winning at all takes time, dedication, perseverance, strength, motivation and support. But this is more than just winning here and there. A winning streak of this magnitude requires all of those characteristics, plus the added ingredient, and most important of them all, consistency.

Several players on the current 2018 Soul roster have been with the team since the streak began in April of 2016 including, QB Dan Raudabaugh, WR Darius "Money" Reynolds, WR Shaun Kauleinamoku, LB Joe Goosby, DB Dwayne Hollis, DB James Romain, DB LaRico Stevenson and OL Wayne Tribue.

"I think the consistency of our roster does affect our results," said Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel. "But we also have a lot of great leaders on this team and that helps even more as far as winning."

The most consistent and recognizable playmaker of this core group, QB Dan Raudabaugh, is one of the most decorated and veteran quarterbacks in the league. In Week 1 of the 2018 season, Raudabaugh threw the 700th touchdown pass of his career. Add to that another stellar performance in Week 2 and Raudabaugh has completed 50 of 71 attempts for 557 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Wide Receiver pair of "Money" Reynolds and Kauleinamoku have a staggering combined total of 393 receptions for 5,276 yards and 159 touchdowns from 2016 to 2018. One of the fan-favorite big men of the Soul, Offensive Lineman and local Temple alumnae Wayne Tribue, has anchored a front that's allowed the fewest sacks in the League since the streak began, earning himself the 2017 AFL Offensive Lineman of the Year Award.

You'll know this consistent Soul Linebacker makes a play when you hear a roaring "GOOOOSE" from the crowd. Joe Goosby has totaled 142.5 tackles over the course of the streak. No one should be surprised that the two most recognizable faces of the Soul's defense, DB's Dwayne Hollis and James Romain, have also been with the team since the beginning of the streak. These two are not just key playmakers on the team, having led the AFL in interception in both 2016 and 2017, but also out in the community. Each season they are at the top of the defensive stats leaderboard and of the player community appearance chart. DB LaRico Stevenson also joins the duo in most, if not all, community appearances.

"Consistency is great in any organization because it helps build trust between everyone," said Soul DB James Romain. "Not only do we consistently get together on the field, but off the field as well. We are definitely out here not only playing for everyone else, but also for each other.
