Conference Semi-Finals Set

Lafayette, LA--National Indoor Football League 2004 playoffs continue this weekend with conference semi-final action in both the Atlantic and Pacific.
The Atlantic Conference takes center stage on Friday night as the Fort Wayne Freedom (8-6) take on the two-time defending champions, the Ohio Valley Greyhounds (11-3) in Wheeling, WV.
The second Atlantic Conference semi-final game will see the Houma Bayou Bucks (11-3) taking on the Lexington Horsemen (10-4) in Lexington, KY.
After review from the NIFL Office, the Horsemen / Bucks game will change venues and move from Houma to Lexington. The playoff game in Houma was originally scheduled for a Thursday night due to the unavailability of weekend dates at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. It was this lack of weekend dates in Houma that led to the venue switch.
"We want both teams to be able to field competitive squads, and the change of venue made the most sense for all parties involved," NIFL President Carolyn Shiver said. "Both Houma and Lexington have come to terms with the venue change, and we are looking forward to a great game between these two strong franchises at historic Rupp Arena."
"Although this is not what we wanted for the fans of Houma, we also understand and realize the unfairness of asking a team to leave three days later to play a game 300 miles away," Bucks Consultant Travis Carrell said. "In the spirit of sportsmanship, look forward to Friday night's game in Lexington."
Over in the Pacific Conference, both semi-final games will take place on Saturday as the Utah Warriors (6-8) hit the road to take on the Sioux Falls Storm (11-3) and the Omaha Beef (9-5) visit the Billings Outlaws (11-3) in Montana.
