Community Heroes Night Set For January 13th

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds, in conjunction with FOX 17/62 and 27 First News, are proud to announce that the SteelHounds home game on Friday, January 13 at The Chevrolet Centre has been designated "27 First News - Community Heroes Night". The game, which begins at 7:05 p.m., will pit Youngstown against the Wichita Thunder.

"27 First News - Community Heroes Night" is a combined effort of the SteelHounds, FOX 17/62 and the 27 First News Caring for Our Community campaign to honor those local people, from all walks of life whether they be police officers, fire fighters, doctors, nurses, military, teachers or just the people next door, that make or have made a difference in the lives of those around them.

Nominations for the "27 First News - Community Heroes" can be submitted to the SteelHounds by mail at 229 E. Front Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44503, Attn: Community Heroes, or, via fax at (330) 747.3902 or via the web at www.steelhounds.com or www.wkbn.com.

In addition to an on-ice ceremony honoring those who are nominated as Community Heroes, the SteelHounds will be wearing special commemorative jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game.

Also during the evening, the SteelHounds and 27 First News will honor The Novak Family, famous for making the Mahoning Valley shine during a recent edition of "Extreme Makeover Home Edition". Family patriarch Jeff Novak and daughter Zoe Novak will drop the game's ceremonial first puck.
