Colorado's Nelson, Georgia's Newton, New York's Walker And New York's Anthony Earn Week Six Honors

NEW YORK - Colorado Crush WR BEN NELSON, Georgia Force DB CAM NEWTON, New York Dragons WR/DB JOHN WALKER and New York Dragons WR/DB CHRIS ANTHONY have been named Offensive Player, Co-ADT Defensive Player, and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 6 of the 2008 season.

OFFENSIVE: Nelson (6-3, 191, St. Cloud St.) recorded a game-high 13 receptions for 174 yards and five touchdowns as the Colorado Crush (2-3) defeated the Los Angeles Avengers (2-4), 67-54, on Friday. Nelson registered receiving touchdowns of four, 37, five, 37 and nine yards as he singlehandedly outscored the Avengers 24-20 in the second half. The Crush's offense scored on 10 of 12 possessions, while Nelson's 174-yard performance ranks fifth-highest in the League this season. The Crush travel to Cleveland to face the Gladiators (3-2) on Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. ET (SIRIUS Radio - Channel 130).

ADT DEFENSIVE: Newton (6-1, 203, Furman) registered four-and-a-half tackles and two interceptions, returning both for touchdowns, as the Georgia Force (3-3) overcame a 21-7 first quarter deficit to defeat the Kansas City Brigade (0-5), 70-63, on Friday. Newton recorded his first interception of the game on the Brigade's first possession of the third quarter. With the game tied at 35, Newton intercepted and returned a pass by Kansas City QB D. BRYANT 45 yards to give the Force a 42-35 lead. Newton's second interception came with 3:35 remaining in the game as his 14-yard interception return for touchdown gave Georgia a 14-point lead, sealing the victory. Newton is the first player to return two interceptions for touchdowns this season. Georgia has a bye in Week 7, but will welcome the Orlando Predators (4-2) to The Arena at Gwinnett Center on Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. ET (AFL NET, CSS - Live, WRDQ-TV - Live).

Walker (6-0, 200, USC) recorded one-and-a-half tackles and three interceptions, including one returned for a 15-yard touchdown, as the Dragons (2-4) defeated the Grand Rapids Rampage (2-3), 63-34, on Saturday. Walker notched the first tackle of the game during the opening kickoff, and then registered the game's first turnover by intercepting Grand Rapids QB JAMES MACPHERSON on the third play from scrimmage. Walker's interception resulted in the Dragon's first touchdown, giving New York a lead it would not relinquish. His second interception came on the Rampage's second possession of the second quarter. On third and goal from New York's two-yard line, Walker intercepted MacPherson and returned it 25 yards to Grand Rapids' 23-yard line. His third and final interception came on the Rampage's first possession of the second half. On third and five, Walker's 15-yard interception return for touchdown gave New York a 49-0 lead, propelling them to their most lopsided victory since defeating Colorado 62-28 in 2005. The Dragons host the Columbus Destroyers (2-4) on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. ET in a Mitsubishi Motors Eastern Division matchup.

IRONMAN: Anthony (6-3, 200, Iowa St.) posted 10 receptions for 92 yards and four touchdowns as the Dragons (2-4) defeated the Grand Rapids Rampage (2-3), 63-34, at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday. Anthony also forced a fumble on defense that was recovered by the Dragons and resulted in a touchdown, helping New York hold Grand Rapids to 34 points after the Rampage combined for 176 in their previous two contests.

Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Columbus QB Matt Nagy, Dallas QB Clint Dolezel and WR Marcus Nash, Georgia WR Carl Morris, Orlando WR T.T. Toliver and WR Ron Johnson, Philadelphia QB Matt D'Orazio and WR Chris Jackson.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Colorado DB Rashad Floyd, Columbus DB Nate Coggins and WR/LB Tremaine Neal and New Orleans DB Calvin Spears.

Ironman of the Week candidates included: Columbus WR/DB Derek Lee and FB/LB Harold Wells, Dallas WR/DB Will Pettis, New Orleans WR/DB Wendall Williams and Philadelphia WR/DB Mike Brown.
