Colorado OS Harrell ties receiving TD record
April 22, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK - Colorado Crush OS DAMIAN HARRELL tied the AFL record for receiving touchdowns in a single season in Friday night's 52-40 loss to the Utah Blaze at Pepsi Center in Denver.
Harrell, who has caught at least one touchdown pass in an AFL-record 62 straight regular-season games, notched his 46th touchdown catch of 2006 tying a record held by five players - Iowa's MIKE HORACEK (2000), Los Angeles' CHRIS JACKSON (2003), New York's MIKE FURREY (2003), Las Vegas' MARCUS NASH (2004) and Arizona's SIAHA BURLEY (2005).
Harrell needs just one more touchdown to set a new single-season receiving touchdown mark and needs six touchdowns to break the AFL's total touchdown record of 51 set by Albany's EDDIE BROWN in 1996 and equaled by Orlando's BARRY WAGNER the following season.
