Florida Tarpons News Release

The Florida Tarpons Arena Football Team signed the first multi-season sponsorship agreement with well known catering company Cohen & Cohen, of Fort Myers. Along with several marketing components of the agreement, the Cohen Company becomes the exclusive caterer of the Florida Tarpons, in a deal worth nearly $100,000 according to the two organizations.

This is the beginning of what they expect will be a series of similar sponsorship agreements according to team owner Andrew Haines. "Baron and Kim Cohen saw the value of supporting the team, and early on they saw a good return on their initial sponsorship investment. They, and we, were excited to take it to the next level with this comprehensive plan," says Haines.

The Florida Tarpons team, nearing the end of a very successful first season, is part of the UIFL, and calls Germain Arena in Estero their home.

Team co-owner Michael Taylor says both he and Haines are big fans of the Southwest Florida area, and they were pleased to bring arena football to this marketplace. "This arrangement is part of a strategy," he said, speaking of the Cohen & Cohen agreement. "We figure food that good is going to help us recruit top-tier players," he explained.

The fan base for the Tarpons is growing strongly across all demographics. "We have everyone from youth groups to seniors groups, and everyone loves it," says Haines, noting that in part because the field size is about half of a standard football field, it's a much more fast paced and action filled sport.

Affordability is another factor. "With tickets starting at as little as $7, it's an evening of live action excitement for less that going to the movies!" continued Haines.

Cohen & Cohen Catering has become one of the most sought-after catering companies in Southwest Florida over the last few years. "We've grown by recognizing the need for value and recognizing opportunity," said Baron Cohen of their company's sponsorship investment in the Tarpons.

"The Tarpons provide probably the best value in sports, and a great value in active family entertainment. Folks can afford to have some fun, and it moves a little money around in the community. That's good for the economy. And what's good for the economy is good for my business,' he continued. "I hope a lot of businesses will support this team and the players!"

Businesses interested in a variety of sponsorship opportunities with the Florida Tarpons are welcome to contact Andrew Haines directly at 239-225-6374.
