Coach Mongo is Looking for Predators

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (January 11, 2007). Alan Perkins, Director of Player Personnel, is excited to announce the second open tryout for the Chicago Slaughter. Chicago's newest indoor football team is looking for talented athletes for its inaugural season. The tryouts will be held Sunday January 21st from 7am -11:30am at the Regional Sports Center, 1310 Ridgefield Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012.

The tryout will consist of a bench press, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, four cone drill, vertical leap, standing broad jump, various agility drills, and 7-on7 play. Please wear workout attire and gym shoes or turf shoes. To register for the tryout, please contact Alan Perkins at 847.812.9361-space is limited, so early registration is recommended. A $50 (cash only) registration fee will be required at registration on January 21st.

The Chicago Slaughter is an expansion team joining the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) for the 2007 season. Former Superbowl Champion Steve "Mongo" McMichael will be the Slaughter's head coach and his 1985 teammate, William "Refrigerator" Perry will be the teams Director of Football Operations.

"Coach Mongo has a soft spot in his heart for a vicious predator," said McMichael at the press conference announcing the team name and coaching staff. "we wants this team to have the sprit, energy, and tenacity of the '85 Bears."

The Sears Centre will be home to Chicago Slaughter football. It is an 11,000-seat state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.
