Cleveland's "Kardiac Kids" Still No. 1 in Latest vPower Rankings

CHICAGO - The Cleveland Gladiators (15-1) survived a scare from the San Antonio Talons (1-15) last week, remaining No. 1 in the latest AFL Field Pass vPower Rankings thanks to a 20-yard field goal in overtime. The 50-47 victory gave Cleveland their franchise-record 15th win of the year and secured the squad's first East Division championship since 2011. The Gladiators return home this week to host the Jacksonville Sharks (6-10) on Saturday, July 19. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

The Pittsburgh Power (13-3) enjoyed a bye in Week 18, but moved back up one spot to No. 2 in the latest vPower Rankings. Pittsburgh, who secured the No. 3 seed in the American Conference following Cleveland's win last week, hits the road this weekend for a matchup with the Iowa Barnstormers (6-10) in Des Moines. Kickoff is set for 8:05 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN3.

Despite riding a five-game winning streak, including a 52-43 win over the Tampa Bay Storm (8-8) last Friday, the San Jose SaberCats (12-4) fell one spot to No. 3 in the latest vPower Rankings. San Jose and Pittsburgh, separated by less than four points in the Rankings this week, have traded spots back-and-forth throughout much of the season. The SaberCats will make a cross-country trip this week, as they matchup with the Philadelphia Soul (8-8) at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

The Arizona Rattlers (14-2) relinquished a 21-point first quarter lead to fall to the Spokane Shock (9-7) by a margin of 73-66 in Week 18, but still managed to stay ahead of Spokane in the latest vPower Rankings. Arizona, now on their first two-game slide since July 2012, stayed at No. 4 in the Rankings this week, while the Shock, winners of three straight, remained at No. 5. Arizona will host the Portland Thunder (5-11) in a possible preview of the First Round of the AFL Playoffs this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPN3. Meanwhile, Monday night football will hit Spokane, as the Shock host the Storm in a "NET10 Wireless AFL on ESPN" matchup that could end up deciding Tampa Bay's postseason fate. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
