Cleveland City Stars Present 24-hour Soccer Marathon

Presented by the Cleveland City Stars and Ambassadors in Sports, the fundraising event will include 24 games in 24 hours with opportunities for local teams to play against the pros. The marathon will run from 3 p.m. Friday October 19th until 3 p.m. Saturday October 20th at NC Hudson on Stow Rd in Hudson, OH. Players raising funds will earn cash rewards. All benefits will support youth education and mentoring programs in Cleveland's inner city, high level coaches training internationally, and more.

Cleveland, September 21st 2007 - The Cleveland City Stars and Ambassadors in Sports present a day-long soccer marathon to support local and international charitable programs. Local teams and players can reserve the right to play against the professional players or the AIS staff. Teams and players will be individually sponsored, with those raising the most funds winning cash prizes and other rewards.

The event starts Friday October 19th at 3 p.m. and will run until Saturday October 20th at 3 p.m. at NC Hudson, located at 5661 Stow Rd in Hudson, Ohio. Teams and coaches are encouraged to gather their best players, form teams, and sign up for the event as soon as possible. The marathon will feature 24 games in 24 hours. Space is limited.

All proceeds from the event will go towards continuing the local and international programs of CCS and AIS. These programs include free camps/clinics, youth education and mentoring programs in inner-city Cleveland, and high level coaches training in Kenya and Haiti.

Professional players will also conduct separate striker, defender and goalkeeper clinics throughout Saturday. CCS players will also be available to compete as part of the amateur teams. A meet and greet session is scheduled with CCS mascot Crocodinho.

Players that raise at least $300 will receive a 10 percent cash reward toward Starbucks, I-Tunes Music Store, Dick's Sporting Goods and more. More funds raised means larger prizes earned!
