Cleveland City Stars Announce 2008 Tryouts And Holiday Specials

The Cleveland City Stars are proud to announce their annual open tryouts for the 2008 season. The second-year organization is looking to ride the momentum that came from the inaugural team's on and off-field success. Tryouts will be held at the City Stars' home field, Krenzler Stadium on the campus of Cleveland State University. Head Coach Martin Rennie, General Manager Mark Geissbauer & Executive Director Aaron Tredway along with other members of the front office, will be in attendance to evaluate players during these tryouts.
"We look at these tryouts as a great opportunity, both for our team and for the surrounding community through the development of local soccer talents," head coach Martin Rennie said. "We look forward to the challenge of repeating the success of last season. The tryouts are the first step in that process and it gives the local talent pool a chance to come out and join us in our mission."
2008 CLEVELAND CITY STARS TRYOUT DATES:
TRYOUT #1: Friday, February 1st 2008 - 10 AM until 2 PM
Friday, February 1st 2008 - 7 PM until 11 PM
TRYOUT #2: Friday, February 15th 2008 - 10 AM until 2 PM
Friday, February 15th 2008 - 7 PM until 11 PM
LOCATION: Krenzler Field, Downtown Cleveland
FEES: $80 non-refundable pre-registration fee
$100 non-refundable walk-up fee
All potential players must fill out the online application (available under www.clevelandcitystars.com), along with the payment in order to be eligible to participate in these Tryouts!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
v All participants will receive a free City Stars T-Shirt
v The City Stars once again guarantee to take at least a couple of players from these tryouts
v The Pre-Registration deadline ends 5 days prior to tryouts
v After Pre-Registration only the first 20 walk-ups will be accepted (registration opens 1 hour prior to tryouts)
v Please be aware that space is limited and only a selected number of 50 players will be invited to participate
v All players must fill out a liability waiver prior to participating in the CCS Tryouts
v Players will need to bring their own water supply and shin guards/no metal or screw-in cleats
v All open Tryout expenses (hotel, travel & meals) must be covered by each player
v Discount Hotel Rates for Tryouts are available upon request
