
City Stars Travel To Carolina For Saturday's Match With The RailHawks

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The City Stars return to the road this week to take on the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday August 9th at 7 p.m. It will be the final match-up of the season between the Stars and the RailHawks, the club of former City Stars head coach Martin Rennie.
The City Stars are looking to climb up the table after last week's 0-0 tie against the sixth place Vancouver Whitecaps. Currently in eleventh place, the City Stars have now scored 15 goals to improve to a 2-12-7 record. Midfielder Pato Aguilera is presently tied for the league lead in assists, and is also ninth in the league for points with 11. Defenders Troy Roberts and Anthony Stovall also make league standings for most minutes played, in fifth and sixth places respectively.
The City Stars have also been recognized several times throughout the season by the United Soccer League, with numerous City Stars players named to the USL Team of the Week. Most recently, goalkeeper Evan Bush was named to the team of the week for week 17 for his impressive performance against the Vancouver Whitecaps on August 1st. Bush registered four saves against the Whitecaps to secure a 0-0 shutout. It was the first career shutout in USL play for Bush, a local product who attended Lake Catholic High School and the University of Akron before beginning his professional career this season with the City Stars.
The Carolina RailHawks are currently in first place in USL-1 league standings with 39 league points. Boasting a 12-5-3 record, the RailHawks have currently scored 26 goals this season, which is double their registered goals against. Carolina goalkeepers have combined for an impressive 13 shutouts. Familiar faces including former City Stars team captain Mark Schulte, defender Jeremy Tolleson, goalkeepers Eric Reid and Caleb Patterson, and forward Sallieu Bundu have worked together this season to defeat the City Stars in two matches, tallying a total of four goals against the Cleveland squad. Forward Bundu has made a considerable contribution as the team's leading goal-scorer with four goals. Teammate Luke Kreamalmeyer has also registered four goals and an assist.
The RailHawks have also had players receive league commendations, with midfielder Joseph Kabwe appearing on the USL-1 Team of the Week for week 17. Kabwe scored a goal in the Railhawks recent 3-0 victory over the expansion Austin Aztex. Bundu is listed as the league's ninth leading goal-scorer, and midfielder Daniel Paladini is tenth in assists.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live at USLlive.com. The City Stars continue their road trip on Tuesday, August 11th at 7:30 p.m. when they take on the Charleston Battery. Cleveland returns home on Tuesday, August 18th to battle the Montreal Impact at Cleveland Soccer Legends Night at Middlefield Cheese Stadium.
