Cleveland City Stars News Release

The Cleveland City Stars are extremely pleased to announce the addition of three new players. Joining the pro team roster are GK Eric Reed, F Olatomiwa Ogunsola, and MF Neil Hlavaty. All three players bring outstanding track records and their addition will be a huge benefit for the upcoming season.

Reed comes to the City Stars after spending last season with the California Victory of USL-1. Originally from Mission Viejo, CA, Reed played collegiately at UCLA where he was a three time all-Pac 10 honoree, including a first team selection after his junior season. While in college, Reed played in the PDL where he was the 2006 Goal keeper of the Year after leading the league with 10 shutouts.

Hlavaty comes to Cleveland from Boston University where he started all 57 games during his career. The native of Lombard, IL was a captain for the PDL's Chicago Fire Reserves during the summer of 2007 and also has international experience from playing with the AC Sparta Prague Youth Team in the Czech Republic. Hlavaty was named to the 2005 American East all-Rookie team and was a two-time first team all-American East Conference selection while also being named the 2007 American East Midfielder of the Year.

Ogunsola joins the CCS roster after completing his collegiate career. The native of Woodridge, VA has been a member of the Olympic Development Program and the U-17 National Team representing the United States. Ogunsola played for the Clemson University and Potomac Cougars Club team in Potomac, VA before finishing out his prep career at the Edison Academic Center in Bradenton, FL.

"It is amazing to see our 2008 pro team taking shape. We have a good combination of experience, fresh-legs and leadership," said CCS Executive Director Aaron Tredway. "I truly believe that we have the right mixture and the operation behind it to make this season one of the best in USL history. Our goal is to bring a championship to downtown Cleveland."
