Cleveland City Stars News Release

The Cleveland City Stars are extremely excited to announce the re-signing of two key defenders from last season's inagural team, Anthony Stovall and Jeremy Tolleson. The two players with opposite personalities will be looked upon to bring the defense together for another strong season.

Anthony Stovall Anthony Stovall returns to midfield after quickly becoming a fan favorite last season, in part because of his all-out style of play and partly because of his ever changing hair color. Stovall was one of the City Stars' most improved players during the course of 2007 and he looks forward to his return to Cleveland.

"It's awesome to receive the opportunity to return to Cleveland this summer," said Stovall. "The intense player development that I received during this past summer, mixed with the community involvement really has changed my life. It is going to be exciting to see, what else the team is going to accomplish together in 2008."

#8 Adam MoffatJeremy Tolleson returns to Cleveland after playing in 19 of 20 games a year ago, most of which he played with a broken arm. A more reserved personality than Stovall, Tolleson is a quality individual that his teammates know they can rely on out on the field. One of the best defenders in USL-2, Tolleson spent the summer helping former CCS assistant coach Jake DeClute with his new position at Gordon University in Boston.

Head Coach Martin Rennie was pleased about the return of Stovall and Tolleson.

"Both players are a great addition to our 2008 season," said Rennie. "The mixture of Stovall's energy and Tolleson's control on the field will again be a great combination. We're excited about the way our 2008 team is coming together and we look forward to finding some more local talent to help complete the roster."
