Cleveland City Stars News Release

The City Stars have announced the winners of the Voice of the Stars tryouts. Joining the club are former Brutus the Buckeye Eric Mayers as the new PA announcer, Rob Ivory as the co-host of the City Stars new online radio show, and Chase Neidig as host of the newly launched CityStars.tv. Neidig will co-host the radio show along with Ivory.

Mayers was Brutus the Buckeye from 1982-85 and visited the Holiday Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl and Citrus Bowl on teams coached by college football Hall of Fame member Earle Bruce. Mayers currently is the PA announcer for all Beachwood high school basketball and baseball events and will bring along the energy that made him college football's most famous mascot to Middlefield Cheese Stadium.

Ivory is the current sports editor for the Cleveland State University Cauldron Newspaper and will bring his experience as a journalist and a City Stars fan to the radio show. Ivory also has on-air experience with WCSB, the radio home of Cleveland State University.

Neidig takes on another role with the City Stars after premiering the CityStars.tv video website last week. Neidig has extensive production and soccer experience and spent last season as the play-by-play voice of the Single A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

"We are pleased with the way the Voice of the Stars auditions turned out," said Cleveland City Stars Director of Media Relations Ryan Aroney. "We had a record number of applicants and we had the honor of meeting with a number of very talented individuals. This is a great group to help open our new stadium and to make our new programming a success."
