(Harrisburg, PA, April 1, 2006)- The Harrisburg City Islanders have agreed to terms with another key contributor from the 2005 season, announcing the signing of midfielder/forward Matt Tanzini after Saturday's preseason match against Long Island University.

Tanzini, 29, scored two goals and seven points in 15 games a year ago, primarily providing valuable and explosive minutes off the bench. In 2004, "Taz" was Harrisburg's leading scorer, with six goals and 13 points.

The native of Binghamton, NY, played four seasons in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), including two with the Harrisburg Heat, where he scored 28 goals and assisted on 22 others in 72 games. Tanzini graduated from West Virginia University and has played for the U.S. National Futsal Team. His signing brings Harrisburg's 2006 roster to 14 players.

The club will play two preseason games next weekend, both at Hersheypark Stadium. Lehigh University visits on Saturday, April 8 (1:00 p.m.), and the Reading Rage of the Premier Development League come to town on Sunday, April 9 (1:00 p.m.). The City Islanders' 2006 season opener will be on Saturday, April 29, at Skyline Sports Complex against the Cincinnati Kings (7:05 p.m.).

Season, group, and single game tickets are on sale now. Ticket prices have remained the same for the third straight season and begin at just $5 for youth general admission. In addition, the club has added a Bring Your Own Chair ("BYOC") option for 2006. Tickets are available by calling 717-441-GOAL or online at www.cityislanders.com.

The Harrisburg City Islanders enjoyed a superb second season in 2005, posting a 12-3-5 record underscored by a 15-game unbeaten streak. The campaign included a second straight playoff appearance, two major postseason awards (Rookie of the Year-, Chad Severs; Coach of the Year, Bill Becher), and four All-League selections (Shane Crawford- and Sumed Ibrahim, First Team; Severs and David Schofield, Second Team). The City Islanders also received the Second Division's "Organization of the Year" award.
