City Islanders Out in the Community This Week

Harrisburg, PA âHarrisburg City Islanders coaches, players, and staff will spend this week promoting youth soccer in the Harrisburg area by participating in a handful of local soccer camps.
Most prominently, Islanders coaches and players will direct soccer camps for inner city children at 7th & Radnor Streets in Harrisburg. The camps run from 10:00 a.m. â 12:00 noon Monday through Friday.
Head Coach Bill Becher and will be joined by Derek Potteiger, Mike Henning, J.T. Dorsey, Steve Fisher, and Peter Boyer, John Lapore, Andy Guastaferro, and possibly others in directing the camps, which were arranged by the City of Harrisburg's Department of Parks and Recreation and the Dauphin County Executive Commission on Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco (DCDAT).
"We're thankful to the Department of Parks and Rec and DCDAT for the chance to participate in this event," said Islanders General Manager Joe Sierko. "It's a lot of fun, very worthwhile, and presents a great opportunity for us to contribute to the community."
Other Islanders players and staff will be appearing at various camps throughout the area this week, including the Soccer Camp at Lebanon Valley College; the Major League Soccer camp in Hanover; the Central Dauphin United camps at the CDSD Soccer Complex at CD East High School; and the Bascome Pro Soccer School camp at Twin Ponds West in Mechanicsburg. The Harrisburg City Islanders are playing their inaugural season in the Pro Soccer League (PSL), a division of the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
