CIFL Radio Network launched
Published on March 13, 2007 under Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) News Release
The Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) is proud to announce the launch of the CIFL Radio Network for the 2007 season. The CIFL Radio Network will be home to the play-by-play broadcasts of every game in the CIFL in the 2007 season.
"It was important to us to make sure we find a way for fan's to listen to their team's games when they are on the road, and this is the way to do it," said CIFL Director of Media Relations Kevin J. Keller. "Our fans are important to us and we wanted to give them what they were asking for."
The CIFL Radio Network is also home to The endZone, a weekly hour-long show dedicated to bringing fans news and notes about the CIFL.
"We had the weekly show in place and we've been working on the play-by-play aspect for quite awhile now," commented Keller. "It's been a long process putting it together, but it's all in place now; we're ready to bring fans all the action in the league."
Each team will have its own broadcast team and will be responsible for broadcasting its home games. Fans of the visiting team, or anyone that wants to listen, will be able to log onto www.continentalindoorfootball.com and find a Listen Live link on the scoreboard page.
"I think the best part of the network is that there's so many different personalities broadcasting the games," continued Keller. "It's not just a couple of guys doing the games; every team has its own broadcast team and you're going to hear a variety of different people all year long."
The CIFL partnered with Pioneer Sports Productions (PSP) and Sportsjuice.com to power the CIFL Radio Network. Sportsjuice.com will provide the bandwidth and servers to carry the games and Pioneer Sports Productions, of which Keller is Vice President, will oversee the network's audio production and technical issues.
"The guys at Sportsjuice.com are great; our page on there has the entire broadcast schedule and presents in a user-friendly layout," said Keller. "Using Pioneer Sports Productions was obvious; my partner in the company has been critical in what we're doing, and one of our broadcasters at PSP will be the voice of the (Summit County) Rumble and (Steubenville) Stampede this year."
CIFL Co-founder Eric Spitaleri also expressed how important it is to the league to launch the CIFL Radio Network.
"We needed something like this; we needed to provide the fans a way to listen to every game," said Spitaleri. "Getting the word out about the league is the most important thing we do, and this provides a great avenue to do that."
Broadcasts on the CIFL Radio Network can be accessed by clicking on the CIFL Radio Network link in the main menu of the CIFL homepage. Listen Live links will also be available on the scoreboard page that will appear on the CIFL homepage on game days.
