Chris Hill Signs with Harrisburg in 2017

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg City Islanders today announced the signing of defender Chris Hill, pending League and Federation approval. The defender returns to Central Pennsylvania after making his United Soccer League (USL) debut with the Harrisburg franchise last season. Prior to entering the USL, Hill played two seasons at Villanova University, finishing his collegiate soccer career with 3 goals and 5 assists.
Hill's first season with the Harrisburg City Islanders was a year of transition; although he signed with the professional club, he was still enrolled at Villanova. As a result, the young defender only played two games in 2016.
In the off-season, Hill spent some time overseas training in Italy and Germany and looks forward to playing a larger role in 2017 for the Harrisburg City Islanders.
"I'm really pumped to be back with the club this year and looking forward to making a bigger impact than I was able to last season. I found some good form at the end of the season and I am determined to reestablish that form this year, help the team get to the playoffs, and raise the USL trophy again. This will be a new year, a new team, and I'm looking forward to it," states Hill.
Head Coach Bill Becher is eager to see Hill's development and performance this season.
"Chris Hill was a young player who practiced and trained really hard everyday. Hopefully he can continue to grow and build on his first season with us."
Chris Hill rejoins the Harrisburg City Islanders as a defender alongside Shawn McLaws, Jaime Thomas, and Lee Nishanian.

The Harrisburg City Islanders are entering their 14th Season in Central Pennsylvania as a professional soccer team in the United Soccer League. The league represents the highest level of competition in the United States and Canada outside of Major League Soccer (MLS).
