Chicago Slaughter News Release
Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Slaughter of the CIFL improved to 3-0 after a 69-38 win over the Rock River Raptors (0-3). The Slaughter's next home game will be Saturday, April 11th, at 7:00 at the Sears Centre Arena.
Chicago dominated on both sides of the ball, as they attacked the Raptor defense from the start. QB Russ Michna led the offense, going 17-26 for 280 yards and seven touchdowns. WR Dontrell Jackson hauled in seven catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns, while fellow WR Donovan Morgan added seven catches for 111 yards and three touchdowns.
"We have the best quarterback in this league and any league," Morgan said about the game. "It's difficult to keep everybody's head in the game because we're on the sidelines for extended periods of time. But perfect practice makes perfect and that's something we're going to be working on."
Michna added his main impression of the game.
"I hope that teams keep trying to blitz us," Michna said. "It certainly makes the game a lot easier."
The Slaughter also scored two touchdowns on defense, with interception returns by DB Dennison Robinson and LB DeJuan Alfonzo. LB Lenny Radtke led the team with 11 tackles, and DB Sidney Lewis added seven tackles.
