Hoffman Estates, IL -- The Chicago Slaughter, of the Continental Indoor Football League, will host their first-ever "Countdown to Kickoff." The event will be held on February 11th from 7pm-9pm at the Sears Centre Arena to give the media and fans a chance to get ready for the 2009 season. The event will give fans the opportunity to meet the Slaughter's players, coaches, and ambassadors, while giving fans to check out the Sears Centre seating area.
"We want to get fans excited for the 2009 season," said Gerry Clarke, President of the Chicago Slaughter. "It's a great opportunity for all Chicago-land sports fans to get introduced to a great state of the art sports facility (Sears Centre) and meet Chicago's most exciting up and coming professional football team."
The team will also use the event to announce its radio deal for the 2009 season, and will showcase the latest player signings for the upcoming season. Slaughter players will be on hand to sign autographs and answer media questions. The team will host a press conference at 7:30pm to announce the radio deal and recent player signings.
"We're very excited about the team we are putting together," said General Manager Alan Perkins. "It's a great opportunity for our fans to get some one-on-one time with our new players, and see all the great things we have planned for the 2009 season."
The 2009 Chicago Slaughter season kicks off on Friday, March 6th at 7:00 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. "The Slaughter would like to offer all of our fans the chance of attending opening night and the team will provide a special discount on all of our upper level seats" said Slaughter Team President Gerry Clarke. "We would also like to invite all of the Chicago Rush fans an opportunity to come watch QB Russ Michna lead our team to the 2009 CIFL Championship," he added.
