VILLA PARK, Ill. (Jan. 30, 2011) -- The Chicago Riot dropped the second leg of its weekend set against the Baltimore Blast with a 15-10 loss on Sunday in Major Indoor Soccer League action at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center.

Eric Duda assisted the game's first goal and tallied one of his own to give the Riot a 4-0 lead early in the second quarter. But the Blast went on an 8-0 run and held on the rest of the way.

The Riot fell to 2-9 on the season and the Blast improved to 10-3 for a first-place tie in the MISL standings with the Milwaukee Wave. Chicago has dropped three straight matches.

Next up for the Riot is a 7 p.m. match on Sunday, Feb. 6, against the Missouri Comets at the Odeum. Tickets start at only $10. Visit www.ChicagoRiotSoccer.com or call 630-708-6284.

The Riot hosted Chicago Soccer Heritage Night on Sunday, and the event included a tribute and ceremonial first kick featuring long-time Chicago Fire great C.J. Brown, as well as a solute to numerous other former and current players, coaches, owners and staff members who have helped the Chicago professional soccer scene over the years.

The Riot played without target forward Anthony Maher, who was unavailable for personal reasons. Maher was instrumental in Chicago's late comeback attempt against Baltimore on Saturday, which resulted in an 18-17 loss at 1st Mariner Arena.

For the second straight day, the Riot netted the game's first goal against Baltimore, with Miodrag "Miki" Djerisilo tallying a goal at the 6:40 mark of the first quarter for a 2-0 lead. Duda had the assist. Djerisilo's first shot hit the left frame of the goal but bounced back in his direction. Djerisilo got a second crack at the goal and capitalized with a shot past Sagu.

The Riot's two rookies pushed the team's lead to 4-0 in the second quarter. Duda netted a two-point goal at the 5:28 mark, with Edward Santeliz assisting. Santeliz provided the swift attack up the field, fed to Duda on the right side, and Duda slotted the ball just inside the right near post for the tally.

But the Blast responded with three straight goals to end the half. Pat Healey tallied a goal at the 8:14 mark of the second as Riot goalkeeper Ante Cop could not quite get enough of Healey's shot as the ball trickled in. Then Giuliano Celenza hit a lofting shot with Cop away from the goal, tying that score at 4-4 at the 9:00 mark. Then at the 14:53 mark, with only seven seconds remaining in the quarter, Worteh Sampson netted an unassisted goal for a 6-4 halftime lead.

The Blast continued its run in the third quarter as Healey tallied his second goal on the power play at the 4:35 mark of the third to push the lead to 8-4.

Chicago put an end to the Blast's 8-0 run when Semir Mesanovic scored at the 12:01 mark of the third to cut Baltimore's lead to 8-6. Bato Radoncic fueled the attack on the left side, and the ball bounced out to Mesanovic in the box. Radoncic had some room to shoot at the goal with Sagu sprawled on the ground.

The Riot tied the score at 8-8 at the 1:31 mark of the fourth quarter on an unassisted goal from Marco Sullo. Chicago had a heavy attack in the box, with Ptah Myers getting a shot in that was blocked by the Blast's Pat Morris. But Sullo was there to clean up.

The Riot then captured the 10-8 lead on an Eric Lukin goal shot from the left corner past Sagu at the 6:21 mark of the fourth. Cop assisted on the play. But the Blast immediately responded to the Riot's 6-0 run with a Warren Ukah goal at the 7:13 mark to tie the score at 10-10.

Baltimore took a 13-10 lead at the 9:41 mark of the fourth with Morris's three-point power play goal. Morris then sealed the match with a penalty kick goal at the 13:38 mark for a 15-10 cushion. The Riot's Fred Degand was called for an intentional handball in the box.

In the net, Cop had 14 assists for the Riot and Sagu had 17 for the Blast.
