
Charleston Bombers Join League

The Carolinas Basketball League announced today that the Charleston West Virginia Bombers have officially joined the league for the 2003 summer season. The Bombers who have been together as a Men's AAU team for several seasons and recently had a top five finish in the National AAU Men's Championships. The team features several top regional players who have a vast amount of professional experience. Among the players who will be suiting up for the Bombers this season are; Last seasons XBA Tournament MVP, Jarrod West out of the University of West Virginia, West Virginia State's Wayne Casey, East Tennessee's Greg Dennis as well as former New Mexico State and German league star, Daniel Hicks. The team will be coached by David Spurlock and Jerry Stout.
"We are very pleased to have Charleston in the league, they are a proven team with a proven track record." Charleston represents the ideal for our league. It is a team comprised of top regional players with strong local support and local ownership. Says League Director, John Jordan
The league is expected to release it's final tally of teams and a schedule within the next week. "We were hoping to already have our schedule out, however we are still in negotiations with several other towns at this time. I am very pleased with the progress that is being made and feel the CBL will have a very successful summer season." Says Jordan.
