EVENT: With a playoff berth and homefield advantage secured, the Philadelphia Charge take to the field Wednesday night at 7 pm against Brandi Chastain and the defending Founders Cup champion San Jose CyberRays in their regular-season home finale. The first 2,000 kids 14 & under will receive a Lorrie Fair Bobblehead Doll courtesy of got milk?. Gates open at 5:30 pm for tickets call 215-467-GOAL.
The Charge (11-3-5, 38 pts) lead the eight-team WUSA standings by just two points over the Carolina Courage. Philadelphia's magic number for winning the WUSA Regular Season Championship is just four points. With a win Wednesday and a Carolina loss or tie, the Charge would clinch the title and enter the playoffs as the top ranked team.
San Jose enters the game needing a win to remain in the playoff hunt. The CyberRays trail the fourth-place Atlanta Beat by three points with only two games to play. A loss by San Jose would eliminate it from postseason contention.
