The Philadelphia Charge will play their season opener this Saturday, May 4 at Villanova Stadium against the Boston Breakers starting at 7 p.m. The first 2,000 fans 14 and under to the game will receive a limited edition Lorrie Fair Bobblehead Doll courtesy of Got Milk?.
The Charge are off to a fast start this season, winning their first two games to sit tied atop the WUSA standings. The Charge beat the Atlanta Beat 2-0 in the season opener on April 13 and then downed the New York Power 2-1 last Saturday. Kelly Smith has scored twice and leads the team with four points. Melissa Moore has been stellar in goal, recording a 0.50 goals-against average.
The Charge are slated to play 11 games at Villanova Stadium this season, which is one more than the club's inaugural campaign.
