
Channel Cats James Patterson Named SEHL Most Valuable Player

The Huntsville Channel Cats James Patterson has been selected the 2003-2004 South East Hockey League Most Valuable Player. He was selected by a vote of the leagues head coaches; team front office personnel, and media representatives from each of the four league cities.
James Patterson had an outstanding SEHL regular season. Patterson, 26 years old from Wayne, Michigan, led the South East Hockey League in total points (119) and assists (74). He was third in the SEHL in goals scored (45). Patterson was also second in the league in game winning goals (11) and had an outstanding plus / minus rating of +29, as the Channel Cats won the SEHL regular season title with a record of 43 wins and 13 losses.
Patterson is a former rookie of the year in the Central Hockey League (with Huntsville in the 1999/2000 season). He played four years of college hockey at the University of Denver before turning pro with Huntsville in 1999. He is in his fifth professional season.
