JACKSONVILLE, FL - Thursday, November 18 - 'Things that Make You Go Hmmm...' how about an action packed pregame show at the UFL Championship Game at Rosenblatt Stadium for starters?
Freedom Williams - the singer of the aforementioned C+C Music Factory hit - Omaha's own world champion Stepper-ettes fresh from their Macy's Day Parade performance in Manhattan, and the Omaha Nighthawks cheerleaders are all ready and waiting to entertain fans on Saturday, November 27 before the 11am UFL season finale kickoff in Omaha.
Freedom Williams, co-founder and front man of the international multi-platinum selling group C+C Music Factory, will perform a six-minute medley of his hits including Things that Make You Go Hmmm, Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now), Here We Go (Let's Rock n Roll) and Do You Wanna Get Funky.
The ever-popular Omaha Nighthawks Cheerleaders will join Freedom with a specially choreographed routine to warm up the crowd before Championship Game kickoff.
Freedom Williams has traveled and performed around the world extensively, and has yet to meet a crowd he couldn't captivate. His performing abilities are just one of the things that keep the crowds mesmerized.
"I'm really looking forward to it and we're going to make people boogie and be ready for the game," said Freedom Williams. "I hear it could be cold there in Omaha, but we will have a cool show that will get people warmed up and on their feet.
"I'm a big sports fan, I used to be on a basketball team and I remember the Locos coach Jim Fassel when he coached with the New York Giants. So I'm really excited to be playing for the UFL Championship Game crowd. It sounds like a lot of fun."
Get in your seats early to also witness the 106 baton twirlers that make up the spectacular Omaha-based Stepper-ettes open the pregame excitement by performing a special four-minute routine to holiday theme music.
Sue Foehlinger's Stepper-ettes Parade and Dance Team was formed in 1973 and the group has grown to be the largest baton twirling and dance organization in the Midwest. Youth between the ages of 4 and college participate and have performed at more than 600 area events including parades, community celebrations, halftime shows and the Special Olympics, and have performed and competed internationally. http://www.stepperettestudios.com.
Williams attended Junior High School I.S. 192 in Hollis, Queens, home to Run-DMC, Jam Master Jay and LL Cool J. He wasn't just a watcher of Hip-Hop culture - he was one of the innovators and early hands-on creators. Williams began his career as MC Tiny Tim then formed a rap group called The Chosen Few (also known as Hard Core) in college.
In 1988, Williams' first commercially successful single, Rise to Freedom, was put out on the independent label Nu-Groove Records. Williams' second single Get-Dumb was distributed by Vendetta/A&M Records. Williams and mega-hit producers Clivillés and Cole then formed the successful C+C Music Factory.
And don't forget - legendary funk artist George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic have vowed to 'rock Rosenblatt' in what promises to be a stunning halftime show. Now that's entertainment!
