They Said It
San Jose head coach DARREN ARBET on returning to New Orleans as the defending champions: "It has been a long road for us. Being the defending champions, a lot of people gave us their best shot and I thought our guys responded well. We had a slow start but they just kept their eye on the prize. The goal was to get back to this game and defend the championship."
ArenaBowl XXII Mobile Kid Zone
ArenaBowl XXII Mobile Kid Zone presented by POWERade will be held today from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. CT at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Kenner, LA. Featured activities include inflatable games, skills challenges, and autograph signings.
Children's Hospital Visit
Select coaches and players from both the Philadelphia Soul and San Jose SaberCats, along with Miss America 2008 KRISTEN HAGLUND, visited the Children's Hospital of New Orleans, a Children's Miracle Network hospital, today from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. CT.
Looking Ahead
On Friday, July 25 all players and coaches will participate in ArenaBowl XXII Media Day on the field at New Orleans Arena. The SaberCats will be available to the media from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and the Soul will be available from 1 - 1:45 p.m. A complimentary media lunch will be available from 12:15-1 p.m. Later that afternoon Chicago Rush WR DONOVAN MORGAN and Dallas Desperados WR/DB WILL PETTIS will be signing autographs at the ArenaBowl store at the J.W. Marriott.
The Virgin Mobile ArenaBowl XXII Mascot Challenge will take place on Friday at New Orleans Aquarium at 3 p.m. On Friday evening, all players and coaches will be on hand for the ADT ArenaBall Awards Gala at the Louisiana Superdome. There will be red carpet photo opportunities.
