Chadderdon Picked up by Nationals

The Hamilton Nationals announced today that the team has acquired Matt Chadderdon from the Major League Lacrosse Player Pool. The midfielder from Auburn, NY, was a three-time All-American at Le Moyne College.

Chadderdon finished his four-year college career with 99 goals and 22 assists for 121 points. In 2011, he was the only Division II player named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list, as he finished fourth on Le Moyne with 33 points (24+9) and five game-winners.

As a junior, Chadderdon led the Dolphins in goals (36) and ranked second on the team in points (43). He was a key contributor to the Dolphins' fifth consecutive appearance in the national championship game. He was awarded the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, Lt. Donald McLaughlin Jr. Award as the nation's top midfielder and the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award as the most outstanding player in Division II.

Chadderdon was originally selected in the eighth round (44th overall) of the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft by the Rochester Rattlers.

The Nationals will open the 2012 season against the Denver Outlaws, on Saturday, May 5th at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Hamilton makes its home debut on Friday, May 18th with an 11:00 a.m. contest against the Chesapeake Bayhawks at Ron Joyce Stadium at McMaster University.
